RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reporting to the Manager of Server & Computer Infrastructure
- Perform routine administrative task and other related services for Database Management including capacity and performance, verify logs and monitor activity on all the servers
- Coordinate maintenance of Database Infrastructure
- Install, configure, test, and update Databases
- Manage database growth to ensure capacity did not affect the performance
- Manage database backup and restore to enture high availability of data
- Monitor connectivity to app server to ensure high performance of application
- Review database server event and security logs and take corrective actions on respected issues
- Monitor and highlight secutiry situations for database identity management to ensure data integrity and protection
- To participate in BCP and DR simulation activity from planning to execution to ensure restoration of database are working as intended.
- Possess a Bachelor Degree or Bachelor Degree (Honours) in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent which is recognised by the Government from any local or abroad higher learning institution in related field of study or qualification in related field of study which is recognised by the Government
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and BM
- At least 2 years experience in managing Database Technology, Microsoft SQL and DB2
- Experience in Windows operating systems and basic task of operating system components, Terminal Serivces and VMWare
- Good understanding of administration of servers and system logical, programming experience in core scripting language such as Shell, HTML etc
- Basic understanding of networks and firewalls in an enterprise environment
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills and ability to work together in a team environment
- Ability to see a task through from assignment to completion with minimal supervision
- Willingness to learn and share any information acquired
- Abiilty to effectively communicate (verbal and written correspondence) in a professional manner with technical and non-technical personnel
- Ability to effectivelt communicate (verbal and wrtten correspondence) in a professional manner with technical and non-technical personnel
- A self-starter, able to multi-task and be independent
- Able to work during non-office hours
