JOB DESCRIPTION

The Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Air Negara (SPAN) or the National Water Services Commission is the national regulatory body for the water and sewerage industry for the Peninsular Malaysia and Wilayah Persekutuan Labuan. The Commission operates under a legislative framework defined in the Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Air Negara Act 2006 (Act 654) and the Water Services Industry Act 2006 (Act 655).

We are now looking for a dynamic individual with a desire for success to be part of the team:

Responsibilities:

The position will report directl to the Chief Operating Officer and will be responsible in leading, planning, developing and implementing strategies and plans for SPAN to regulate the sewerage services industry efficiently and effectively.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical or Environmental Engineering.Those with MBA qualification have an added advantage.
• At least 20 years of relevant working experience which includes dealing in managing or implementing water and sewerage services related activities. However, those with lesser number of years of experiences but with highly relevant experience will also be considered.
• Proven experience with project oriented work requiring interaction across multiple organizational areas and management levels.
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group including the water and sewerage operators, consumers and subject matter experts.
• Strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of the application and operational requirements of the regulatory functions.
• Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia and English languages (written and oral).
•  Proactive, resourceful, team management skills and result oriented team player.
